Senior Olivia Williamson Selected for Lott Leadership Institute at Ole Miss

Columbia Academy is incredibly proud of senior Olivia Williamson, who was selected to participate in the Lott Leadership Institute for Rising 12th Graders at the University of Mississippi this summer.

The Lott Leadership Institute is a highly competitive program that selects just 40 students total each year, split between two summer sessions of 20 students each. Participants are chosen based on demonstrated leadership, a commitment to public service, concern for others, and academic achievement. Olivia attended the June session.

During the five-week experience, Olivia spent four weeks living and learning on the Ole Miss campus, where she earned seven hours of college credit while building her leadership, public speaking, and networking skills. The program concluded with a trip to Washington, D.C., where students met with leaders and explored government, public policy, and other fields of interest.

Olivia returned home tired but full of new knowledge, experiences, and friendships. She especially treasured her time in Washington, D.C., which gave her a chance to explore areas she is considering for her future.

It has been quite some time since a Columbia Academy student was selected for the Lott Leadership Institute, making Olivia's achievement even more special for our school community.

Congratulations, Olivia! We are so proud of you for representing Columbia Academy so well and for making the most of such an incredible opportunity. We know this is only the beginning of many great things ahead.
