Fourth Graders Explore Measurement and Nature in Mrs. Mandy's Class

In Mrs. Mandy's 4th grade science and math class, students have been learning just how important accuracy is when it comes to measuring. So many things in the world depend on precise measurements, and the class has been having fun discovering why that matters.

To practice their skills, students measured different parts of their bodies, including their hands, shoes, and wrists, using centimeters. They enjoyed comparing their measurements with classmates while working on being as accurate as possible.

The class has also been studying seeds, plants, and trees, with a special focus on conifers. Students learned that conifer seeds are found inside cones, and one of their favorite activities was testing pinecones in water to observe whether they opened or closed.

Throughout these lessons, students have enjoyed making observations and watching science come to life right before their eyes.
