Committee Assignments

February 15,2010

The President of the Board of Directors and the Headmaster are always Ex-Officio members of all committees.  The Committees are to have regular meetings or as needed, and then placed on the Agenda of the next regular Board of Directors meeting.  The purpose of each committee is to provide the Board with recommendations, alternatives, and reports, and to take proper action when the Board has given authorization.  This can only be accomplished if the Committee(s) has acted in a “timely” or “as needed” basis in their respective areas.  It is imperative for the committee(s) to come to the Board Meeting fully prepared in order that the Board may take actions based on good sound information and operate in an effective and efficient manner.

Finance

The Finance Committee is to oversee all financial actions.  The implementation of Policy regarding past due patron in tuition and monthly fees is also the responsibility of the committee.  In addition, the committee is to work together to prepare a school budget to be presented to the Full Board of Directors.  Make and review recommendations to pay bills and monitor Expenditures.

 

Building and Grounds

The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for care and maintenance of the school property and buildings.  They should make recommendations to the Board concerning any and all projects that may be planned or needed in the future.  In addition, to preparing a yearly budget for routine maintenance, the committee is to develop and present to the Full Board of Directors a scope of work and prepare a budget for any capital project that may be contemplated by the Board.  Organize work days and plan summer maintenance projects.

 

Bus and Routing

The Bus and Routing Committee should work with the Headmaster in regular maintenance of all buses and driver certification. Additional responsibilities also include the planning of bus routes.  All routes should be decided on and patrons informed of routes on or before the second week of July.  Keep patrons informed of any changes to routes. 

 

Athletics and Activities

The Athletics and Activities Committee is responsible for gate assignments, cooking, Prayer and National Anthem, announcer and clock operators for all ball games, and provide assistance to the Athletic Director as needed.  All scheduled athletic events are to be approved by the committee including making sure that events do not conflict with test schedules.   Additionally, this committee is responsible for support and guidance of cheerleaders, dance team, show choir, Christian performing arts team, and any other extra curricular activity.

 

Education and Personnel

The Education and Personnel Committee is responsible for overseeing all staff contracts and salaries.  They are to assist the Headmaster as needed with class scheduling, student eligibility and publication each year of school handbook.  In general, they are to assist in setting educational and personnel goals and standards.

 

Fundraising/ Annual Fund

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for getting workers for various fundraisers, and to make recommendations to full Board about possible future fundraisers, requested fund raising projects from all classes and/or organizations, and to develop a calendar of fundraising events for each school year.

The Membership Committee is responsible for thoroughly reviewing and screening each membership application as per Board Policy and Guidelines.
